If you lost all of your personal belongings in a fire or another catastrophe, you likely wouldn't be able to recall all of your possessions from memory alone. This holds especially true for homeowners with significant assets. It's hard enough to recall everything you own under normal circumstances, but it's even more challenging when tragedy strikes.

An up-to-date home inventory can help to make filing a home insurance claim much more manageable and certainly much less stressful.

No longer a tedious chore

Creating a complete inventory of your possessions might seem overwhelming, but there’s good news: Technology can turn this tedious chore into an easy (maybe even enjoyable) activity. A home inventory can aide in the home insurance claim process.

The best home inventory apps make it easy and intuitive to categorize your possessions and sort items by room. Scannableble barcodes and QR codes make it easy to upload photos and videos of your property. And you can add new purchases throughout the year, so you’re always up to date.

A backup of your inventory is automatically stored in the cloud in case you lose or damage any of your devices.

In addition to helping you organize, document and track your belongings, inventory apps help you calculate how much your items are worth.
